"Light It Up Blue"

“Light It Up Blue” is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of autism and was launched in 2010 by Autism Speaks, an American association. The action consists in illuminating your building or statues in blue, from March 30 to April 5, 2020, or even longer.

The “Light It Up Blue” action takes place on April 2, which is the same day World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD). “Light It Up Blue” is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of autism and was launched in 2008 by Autism Speaks, an American association. The action consists in illuminating your building or statues in blue, from March 30 to April 5, 2020, or even longer.

The four associations working for the cause of autism in Luxembourg, namely Autisme Luxembourg asbl, APPAAL asbl, 3AL and FAL come together every year to organise “Light It Up Blue” action. Nearly fifty initiatives have supported us last year and we hope this year to count on more participants.

There exist other ways how you can support FAL’s for this autism acceptance month:

  • Invite your staff to dress in blue, take a group photo and share it on your Facebook page tagging FAL
  • Organise a fundraising event (e.g. sale of cakes, sport competition)
  • Support us on our common account: BIC: BCEELULL & IBAN:  LU81 0019 5255 3817 4000 with "Light It Up Blue" communication
