Mini-ferme

# Mini-ferme

***A mini farm is beginning to take shape at our Munshausen site. Our residents now share the large garden with chickens and five goats. We will soon also welcome two pigs and some rabbits.***

This project at our residential facility offers many benefits. Among other things, working with the animals provides relaxing and meaningful activities that can help reduce behavioural problems. Producing organic, locally grown food is another significant advantage, helping to lower food costs while providing our residents with healthier meals.

Activities involving the animals—such as feeding them and collecting eggs—will take place throughout the year. With the materials we have selected, we expect our various facilities and equipment to last for around ten years.

This project will not come together overnight. There is still work to be done, including improvements such as renovating the shed and repairing the fence. There is still plenty to do, but together we will make it happen!
