Energy Management — Reducing Stress and Preventing Burnout through a Neuro-Affirmative Approach
On 10 November 2026, we are pleased to invite you to a conference with psychologist and author Maja Toudal, organised as part of the Fondation Autisme Luxembourg’s 30th anniversary celebrations, at BGL BNP Paribas Kirchberg, starting at 7 p.m.
During the conference, Maja Toudal will introduce the Energy Accounting method and share concrete, practical tools that can be put into practice immediately.
Diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Maja Toudal has personal experience of the stress faced by autistic people as they navigate a world that is not designed to meet their specific needs. When she began secondary school, she felt the need to find a way to “survive” the increasing levels of stress associated with the school environment. This approach needed to be flexible enough to adapt to fluctuating needs and to identify early warning signs of stress before reaching burnout.
After more than ten years of use in clinical practice in several countries, Energy Accounting has evolved into a holistic, visual and structured method, adaptable to a wide range of neurodevelopmental profiles as well as different forms of disability that may affect stress levels. Its neuro-affirmative approach focuses on each person’s strengths and resources, while recognising the real challenges that may sometimes require individualised strategies. The method can be used independently or in collaboration with a healthcare professional.
Since 2012, Maja Toudal has been working with Dr Tony Attwood to further adapt and develop the method. Together, they published a book dedicated to this approach in 2024, entitled Energy Accounting.
If you would like to attend the conference, please confirm your attendance by email at autisme@fal.lu by 2 November 2026.
Admission is free.
The conference will be held in English, with French interpretation provided on site.
