Autism and the Relationship with Time ⏱️
February 10, 2026
People with autism, without intellectual disability, can experience and perceive time in very different ways. This particular relationship with time often influences their organization, routines, handling of unexpected events, and daily well-being. This workshop aims to help participants better understand how people with autism perceive and manage time, identify difficulties related to this perception (waiting, transitions, changes…), discover practical tools to structure and secure daily life, and encourage calmer communication around time and activities.

Autism and the Relationship with Time ⏱️

March 12, 2026

For people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), the concept of time can be difficult to understand and manage. A lack of temporal markers can cause stress, anxiety, and difficulties in daily routines. This workshop aims to explain how time perception may be altered in individuals with ASD with intellectual disability, understand the consequences on daily life (waiting, transitions, activity changes, rituals…), explore visual supports and practical tools (schedules, pictograms, timers, visual routines) to help structure time, and allow parents to share challenges and possible solutions.

Leisure plays a crucial role in the development, well-being, and inclusion of people with autism. Yet it is not always easy to find activities suited to their needs, specific interests, or pace. This workshop aims to better understand the importance of leisure for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), explore different activity options that promote growth, socialization, and relaxation, and share experiences and resources to help families find concrete and accessible solutions. A moment to rethink the role of pleasure, play, and discovery in the daily life of people with autism.
